The Irish Independent reports today on Dylan Evans’ President’s Awards for Research on Innovative Forms of Teaching from his University in Cork.

Dylan, author of Introducing Evolutionary Psychology and Introducing Evolution, has been mired in controversy this year after his university upheld a sexual harrasment charge against him, brought by a colleague to whom he showed a paper about oral sex in fruit bats.  As the paper reports:

‘UCC disciplined Dr Evans, who claimed his academic freedom was being impinged upon and subsequently raised a legal challenge seeking to quash the college’s findings.’

‘The matter is due for a full hearing in the High Court on November 30 and December 1.’
