Ed Howker and Shiv Malik’s Jilted Generation is included in Daisy Meyland-Smith’s Christmas books roundup for the Centre for Policy Studies.

‘While the authors deserve credit for their restrained use of the word ‘doinked’ in the introduction,’ she says ‘there is no such delicacy in their condemnation of the ‘shaming, condescending, ambition-crushing, contemptuous message’ put forward by the ‘Panel for Professionally Crushing the Dreams of Youth’. ‘If the UK economy is the room,’ reads one passage‘this is the elephant defecating in the middle of it.’
