The Sunday Times Culture section have given David Hoffman’s The Dead Hand a great review, arguing its continuing relevance for today .

Reviewer Max Hastings says that ‘the abiding impression left by the author’s narrative is of the fog of ignorance that shrouded the leaders of the most powerful nations on earth as they dealt with each other…But terrible weapons are still out there, and so is a morbid mistrust between the great powers, which lie to each other again and again.’
