Martin Bell was at the Guildford Literary Festival recently talking about his brand new book of ‘light and dark verse,’ For Whom the Bell Tolls.

The Spectator’s Daisy Dunn interviewed him there beforehand and here’s the result on the magazine’s website.

‘He has alleged that For Whom the Bell Tolls is the closest thing he’ll ever write to an autobiography.’ she says. ‘With a fast-changing and admirably full schedule like Bell’s, that can surely be no wonder.’

There’s more about the book here and you can catch Martin next at Hampton Library in Richmond, south-west London, on 27th October.
