The Etymologicon beats Steve Jobs to be No.1 on Amazon

We don’t usually shout about this sort of thing, but The Etymologicon is Amazon.co.uk’s bestselling book as of 3pm today (yes, that’s it, just above Steve Jobs biography).
If you haven’t heard of it yet, it’s an occasionally ribald, frequently witty and unerringly erudite guided tour of the secret labyrinth that lurks beneath the English language, taking in monks and monkeys, film buffs and buffaloes, and explaining precisely what the Rolling Stones have to do with gardening.
It’s also Book of the Week on Radio 4 this week, read by Hugh Dennis.
