Drawing on rich new sources from the recently-opened Soviet archives, Stalin’s General is the first full-scale biography of a seminal 20th century figure – Georgy Zhukov, out now.

Henry Coningsby, Waterstones praised the book for being ‘a shrewd, balanced account’ of Marshal Georgy Zhukov, one of military history’s legendary names.

Henry goes on to say, ‘…it seems astonishing that there has been no full-length study of Zhukov until now. Geoffrey Roberts’s fine book takes its place among the last, but no less valuable, pieces in the jigsaw of World War Two historiography’. Read more of the review here.

The Irish Times also described the book today as being ‘the most comprehensive biography of Zhukov… an informative, accessible and academically rigorous work’. Read more of the review here.
