No Icon book to sell here, but anyone who cares about books and reading will want to read this speech by novelist Philip Pullman made in Oxford last week.
He lambasts the government cuts to local authority spending which are going to massively reduce the number of libraries available to the public. For anyone who’s experienced the wonder that a public library can provide, it’s a rousing address.
